Introduction to Linguistics is a compulsory subject given to students of the English for Business and Professional Communication Study Program at Politeknik Negeri Jakarta. The learning materials consist of theory and practice covering phonetics, phonology, morphology, semantics, syntax, pragmatics, sociolinguistics and second language acquisition.
This learning media consists of 9 modules. Module 1 discusses linguistics and its history. Module 2 discusses phonology, which is the study of language that studies the sounds of language produced by the human speech apparatus. In this section, students are presented with various phonological topics ranging from definitions to various types of phonological disorders.
